INVITATION
Norwegian House Society invites the community to gather together at this time of sorrow to honour the life of Norway’s King Harald V, following his death and funeral.
Please join us at the Scandinavian Community Centre, 6540 Thomas St., Burnaby, BC, September 9, 2026 from 1-3 pm, to share memories, console each other, share a coffee.
A few words will be said and a toast made to Kong Harald V and the new Kong Haakon VIII.
The event will focus on sharing and supporting each other through the loss of Norway’s much loved King who has been there to support the people in times of celebration and tragedy, always with the right words of guidance and conscience.
Very much the people’s King, he will live on in our hearts.

Note: having to organize this event on short notice, we will appreciate contributions to the coffee/tea table. If you are able to help with set-up, please arrive 60 minutes early. Or lend a hand with clean-up. If you have the technical expertise and knowledge to access coverage of the funeral please come prepared to share.
