By Car

When heading east on Trans Canada Highway 1
1. Take Sprott St. Exit 32 and proceed to traffic lights at Sprott St.
2. Turn left and continue to traffic lights at Kensington Ave.
3. Turn right and proceed one block and turn right again on Thomas St. You can see the Centre at left side at the end of the street.

When heading West on Trans Canada Highway 1
1. Take Kensington Avenue Exit 33 and proceed north.
2. Turn left at Thomas St. You can see the Centre at left side at the end of the street.

By Public Transit

There are numerous ways to get to the Scandinavian Centre by public transit, here are the most common. For detailed transit schedules, visit www.translink.ca.

Option 1
1. Take the Expo Line SkyTrain to Metrotown Station (SkyTrain leaves from numerous points in downtown Vancouver, including the SeaBus Station at Waterfront.)

2. From Metrotown Station, take either bus #110 Lougheed Station from Bay 8 or #144 SFU from Bay 6 and get off the bus at Sprott & Kensington (18-20 mins.)

3. Once off the bus, walk straight ahead to Kensington Ave, take a right and walk one block to Thomas St. Take another right and the Scandinavian Centre is at left side at the end of the street.

Option 2
1. Take the Millenium Line SkyTrain to Sperling-Burnaby Lake Station

2. From Sperling-Burnaby Lake Station, take either bus #110 Metrotown Station from Bay 3 or #144 Metrotown Station from Bay 2 and get off the bus at Sprott & Kensington (4-5 mins.)

3. Once off the bus, walk straight ahead to Kensington Ave, take a right and walk one block to Thomas St. Take another right and the Scandinavian Centre is at left side at the end of the street.

From Finland's Front to the West Coast of Canada: The Recollections of Finnish War Veterans in Canada.

Come Celebrate Finland's National Veterans day at the Scandinavian Centre on Sunday April 26th. Doors open at 12.30pm. Program at 1pm. 66 minutes in Finnish with English subtitles.
All the veterans that were interviewed for the film lived in BC.
The veterans tell their stories revealing history through personal experience: why and how they fought; the personal consequences, as well as the consequences to the country as a whole; tragedy and hope.
