ATTENTION! STUDENTS AND SCHOLARS
To qualify for any of the thirteen scholarships: ten $1,500 scholarships from the DHS, two $2,400 scholarships from the estate of Ruth and Johannes Pedersen ($2400 paid to each of the two top qualifying students) and one $2,000 from the Danish Sisterhood of America, Lodge 179, you must meet the following criteria:
Application should be made by a hand-written letter (NO computer handwriting fonts) giving your reasons for requesting the scholarship and describing your personal interests, hobbies, goals, dreams, financial need, and volunteer experience. Participation as a volunteer in Danish House Society activities should be noted. All of the Scholarships are to be awarded at the September Kro Aften at the Scandinavian Community Centre.
To be considered for a DHS scholarship, Estate of Ruth and Johannes Pedersen Scholarships or The Danish Sisterhood of America, Lodge 179, your application and relevant information e.g. letter of application, transcript(s), and references (include your phone number, postal and e-mail addresses) must be mailed or submitted for receipt by June 30th, 2023 to:
