Teuvo Peltoniemi, Lic. of Social Sciences, is a Finnish researcher and science journalist specializing in Nordic Utopian migration. He has worked in universities, radio, TV, and print media, and published 18 books. In 2007, he was honoured with the “State of Finland Award for Life Work on Public Information.” His next Finnish language book about Utopian Communities will be published in September 2024, and an English-language “Nordic Utopists in Americas” in 2025.
Finnish Researcher and Science Writer Mr. Teuvo Peltoniemi is coming to Vancouver and will give a presentation about Nordic Utopias in English at the Centre, and is happy to answer questions and chat with people afterwards. If time permits, he will also show a 30-minute film From Sea to Sea about the year-long voyage of Captain Höök to form a Finnish utopian community on the shores of River Amur in Russia (in Finnish with English subtitles).
